After having spent most of 18 months locked down in our one bedroom flat in London because of the coronavirus pandemic, the space, peace and quietness of Armyra Villas was exactly what we needed. Surrounded by sea views, we felt like we were on a retreat.
Staying at Athenea Villas was never part of our original Zakynthos itinerary, but I am so glad that we did! The villa complex was very well taken care of, and so were we. Villa Sidemen is a romantic and luxury retreat in the middle of Bali’s jungle. The highlights of our stay were the private infinity pool with volcano views, the typical Balinese breakfast in our garden, and the giant indoor hot tub. Not only did we save on costs by staying in this hotel, but we also got to see more of Thailand by staying in Koh Samui rather than Koh Phangan. With speedboat ferries to the Full Moon party just minutes away and two temples within walking distance, it was a perfect location. Sleeping in a tent in Yosemite’s Camp Curry while being surrounded by bears was very memorable. We didn’t sleep very well because of all the noises at night, but it is definitely worth the unique experience.
Ever since I was a child I dreamt of living at the beach, and our stay in White Sands Bungalows in Jambiani, Zanzibar definitely made this dream come true.
