The Greek island of Zakynthos is full of instagrammable places everywhere. In this post, I am sharing all the instagram spots of Zakynthos that you can’t miss! To make it easy for you to find these spots, I have put them all on a map.

Map of most instagrammable spots in Zakynthos
A lot of places in Zakynthos have similar names but are located at different sides of the island. So to make sure you are going to the right place, I have marked all my instagrammable spots of Zakynthos on below map:
I marked the most instagrammable places in the north of Zakynthos purple, the most instagrammable spots in Zakynthos Town yellow, and the most instagrammable places in the south of Zakynthos blue.
I have also made the ultimate list of the most instagrammable places in Zakynthos:
Most instragrammable places in North Zakynthos (purple):
Most instagrammable places in Zakynthos Town (yellow):
- Zakynthos Museum
- Church Agios Nikolaos of Molos
- Statue of Liberty Zante
- Saint Dionysios Strofades Monastery Bell Tower
- Agiou Markou Square
- Orthodox Church of Ascension
Most instagrammable places in South Zakynthos (blue):

- Port Agios Sostis
- Chapel of Agios Nikolaos
- Keri “Lighthouse” restaurant
- Ionian Sunset Cafe
- Porto Limnionas Beach
- Porto Roxa Beach
- Keri Beach
- Gerakas Beach
Most instragrammable places in North Zakynthos
The north of Zakynthos is definitely home to the most insta-famous spots of the island. So no matter where in Zakynthos you stay, make sure not to skip the north!
Shipwreck Beach Viewpoint
The Shipwreck Beach Viewpoint will always have a special place in my heart, because this is where Jordi and I got engaged! 🙂
I’m sure that when you think of Zakynthos, the first thing that comes to mind is the view from the Shipwreck Beach Viewpoint. It is the most insta-famous spot of Zakynthos, and for good reason. Aren’t the views amazing?! I also love the colours of the sea and the sky.
But it’s not at all easy to get to the Shipwreck Beach Viewpoint, so I wrote a separate post about “How to get to the Shipwreck Beach Viewpoint“.
Shipwreck Beach (Navagio Beach)
Obviously closely related to the Shipwreck Beach Viewpoint is the Shipwreck Beach itself. The Shipwreck Beach is also called Navagio Beach, and the only way to reach it is by sea.
It is so impressive to be surrounded by the cliffs when you’re standing on the Shipwreck Beach. And of course you’ll need to have that typical Zakynthos insta-pic with the Shipwreck itself. I mean, have you even been to Zakynthos if you don’t have this picture?!
I have written a separate post for all you need to know about visiting the Shipwreck Beach.
Blue Caves
Since the only way to reach the Shipwreck Beach is by boat, chances are that you will be taking a boat tour departing from Agios Nikolaos Beach in the north of Zakynthos. Most boat tours departing from Agios Nikolaos Beach to the Shipwreck Beach will add the Blue Caves to their itinerary and let you swim in the caves for a bit.
Most instragrammable places in Zakynthos Town
Zakynthos Town is the capital city of the island, so you will most likely visit this town at some point during your stay. And while you’re in Zakynthos Town, why not take some pictures for the gram 🙂
Zakynthos Museum
I have to admit that we didn’t have time to actually visit the Zakynthos Museum in Solomos Square, but the entrance of the museum sure caught my attention. I mean, how pretty are the arches, the colour scheme and the lamps hanging from the ceiling?!
Church Agios Nikolaos of Molos
Statue of Liberty Zante
Did you know that Zakynthos has its very own Statue of Liberty? It’s not nearly as big as the one in New York City, but it is definitely cute.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find out much about the history or meaning behind the Statue of Liberty Zante, but it is located at Solomos Square.
Saint Dionysios Strofades Monastery Bell Tower
The Saint Dionysios church is the tallest church in Zakynthos Town, and I just love all the green surrounding the bell tower. It is right next to the port of Zakynthos town as well, so if you’re ever looking for the port, all you need to do is look at the sky and walk towards the Bell Tower of Saint Dionysios Church.
Agiou Markou Square
Agiou Markou square is also known as “Saint Mark’s square” or “San Marco square”. It is home to the only Catholic church on the island, and to the Solomos and Kalvos museum.
The square was an important place in history where many events happened, but sadly it got destroyed by the earthquake in 1953 and now it is rebuilt.
Orthodox Church of Ascension
My last instagrammable place of Zakynthos Town is the Orthodox Church of Ascension. I just love the pretty architecture of this church and how it is surrounded by colourful streets.
To get this picture, we actually had to leave our tripod on the pavement and pose in the middle of the street. Luckily there wasn’t much traffic when we went, but be careful.
Most instragrammable places in South Zakynthos
Now that I’ve shown you the most instagrammable places of North Zakynthos and Zakynthos Town, I’m only just halfway through my list!
The South of Zakynthos has so many cute and instagrammable places to offer, even if they are not as insta-famous as the ones in North Zakynthos.
Cameo Island Footbridge
Could the Cameo Island Footbridge be the most romantic photo spot of Zakynthos? It is definitely the most famous photo spot of South Zakynthos, because Cameo Island stars as the wedding venue in Mamma Mia.
To avoid the crowds, we did our Cameo Island Footbridge photoshoot before 9am, which is when the footbridge opens. As a bonus we got the sunrise colours in our pictures.
Port Agios Sostis
Chapel of Agios Nikolaos
The Chapel of Agios Nikolaos is definitely another romantic photo spot in Zakynthos. It is a white church right next to the sea, with a cute bell tower next to it. While we were taking our pictures with the church, another couple was doing their wedding photoshoot with the bell tower. Once they finished, we also took some pictures with the bell tower.
And how romantic is the moonlight shot taken from the top of the hill next to the church?!
If you’re looking for the Chapel of Agios Nikolaos, you’ll probably find out that there are quite a few churches in Zakynthos with “Agios Nikolaos” in their name. Make sure you go to the one between Ano Vasilikos and Vasilikos, on St. Nicholas beach.
Keri "Lighthouse" Restaurant
We probably made total fools of ourselves by trying to get the perfect shot of us having lunch with a view, but it was totally worth it! We took below (left) picture by setting up the tripod on top of a chair next to our table, which – as you can imagine – caught quite a lot of attention from fellow restaurant guests. It was a bit of a bittersweet lunch, because it was just a few hours before our flight back to London, but the food was amazing!
Ionian Sunset Cafe
If for some reason you can’t make it to the Keri “Lighthouse” Restaurant (maybe they’re fully booked, or they don’t always accept guests coming for drinks only), the Ionian Sunset Cafe is a great alternative.
These pictures are taken from the Ionian Sunset Cafe’s terrace, which is only accessible if you buy at least one drink per person. We both went for an Aperol Spritz to celebrate our last day in Zakynthos, but there are cheaper options available.
Porto Limnionas Beach
Porto Roxa Beach
The sun beds at Porto Roxa Beach are definitely made for instagram! Unfortunately the sun beds were not as clean as it may look like on the pictures, so I wasn’t very comfortable laying down on the stained beds. Officially you need to pay extra to use this bed because it belongs to a cafe, but we got our drinks on a free (and clean!) but less instagrammable sun bed instead.
Also, the beds are on top of a rocky landscape, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes when going to Porto Roxa Beach. Walking towards the sun beds kind of feels like balancing on the edge of mini-craters (I have no idea how else to describe it).
Last but not least, the curtains surrounding the bed move with the wind, so make sure to take lots of pictures. That way, you will have at least one picture on which you’re not covered by the curtains 🙂
Keri Beach
I just love the views of Turtle Island from Keri Beach. Can you see how that island behind us has the shape of a turtle?
And how cool are the trees on Keri Beach? They sure make a nice picture frame. This picture was taken at sunrise, which is the best time of the day to take a picture here. During the day, the beach is packed with tourists who also love the Turtle Island views.
Gerakas Beach
Gerakas Beach is where the sea turtles of Zakynthos lay their eggs, so we went to this beach hoping to see some baby turtles make their way to the sea. Unfortunately we didn’t see any turtles, but the beach was really pretty.
The wooden ramp towards Gerakas beach kind of reminded me of the Algarve in Portugal.

Hello. My name is margarita. Do you live in zakynthos. Could you give me some insights of the island if zante
Thank you
Hi Margarita
I only went to Zakynthos on holiday, so I do not live there and don’t know what it’s like to be a local. I did speak to the owner of one of the hotels we stayed in, and she explained that she only lives in Zakynthos during the summer months. The rest of the year she lives in Athens. I’m not sure if more business owners do this though.
