Mykonos Town in Greece is one of the most picturesque cities I have visited so far. Its beautiful blue and white streets with cobble stones and stairs , churches and windmills offer plenty of photo opportunities…

PS: Are you planning a romantic getaway to Mykonos with your loved one? Check out these unforgettable things to do in Mykonos, especially for couples.

Map of Mykonos Town's most instagrammable spots

To make it easy to find Mykonos Town’s most instagrammable spots, I have made a map for you:

If you’re not staying in Mykonos Town, you can park your car for free at the Old Port. I have organised the most instagrammable places in Mykonos Town into different categories:

Churches in Mykonos Town

Mykonos Town has some of the most beautiful churches, so here are a few of my favourites:

Panagia Paraportiani church

Panagia Paraportiani is my favourite church in Mykonos Town because of its shape and because it is next to the sea. It is also the most photographed church in Mykonos.

Paraportiani means “standing next to the entrance door”, and the church got this name because it used to be next to the Castle door.

Panachra Church

The Panachra Church is super cheerful with all the colourful flags hanging in front of it. If you walk around the church, you’ll find a square full of flags.Β

We arrived here at 8:50 am and we already had to be patient to get quiet pictures, so it’s better to arrive early in the morning. Especially when you visit Mykonos during high season (we travelled in September, so just after the season).

Catholic church

This Catholic church shows up in the map as a Greek name, but you should be able to find it when you search for “Casa di Giorgio” in Google Maps. The surroundings of this church are super cute with the bridge, red dome and the terrace.Β

We got here at 1:10 pm in September and the terrace was completely empty. If you prefer a picture without the chairs of the terrace, you should probably visit before opening time.

Metropolitan church

The Metropolitan Church is right next to the Catholic church above, and definitely also worth a picture:

Saint George's Church

Saint George’s church is very pretty, especially with the wishing well and chairs next to it.

Saint George’s church is surrounded by famous shops like Louis Vuitton, so you need to visit early if you want to take a quiet picture. These pictures were taken at 8 am:

Agia Anna Church

The last (but not the least) church on the list is Agia Anna. Agia Anna is probably the first church you will see when you walk to Mykonos Town from the free parking lot. It is right next to the Paralia Choras beach:

Stairs in Mykonos Town

Mykonos Town is full of beautiful stairs, but unfortunately they don’t have a name. To make it a bit easier for you to find the stairs, I have marked some shops on the map in purple.

Most stairs are either from the shop, or you’ll be able to see them when you approach the shop. Obviously shopping streets get busy when shops open, so all these pictures were taken between 7:45 am and 8:30 am.

Stairs at Tommy Hilfiger shop

The stairs at the Tommy Hilfiger shop are my favourite, because of the flowers, cobble stones and the two different shades of blue. It doesn’t get much cuter than this right?!

"I love Mykonos" stairs

I mean, have you even been to Mykonos if you don’t have a picture with these “I love Mykonos” stairs?! You will find the “I love Mykonos” stairs at the Lascala nail shop in Mykonos Town.

Stairs close to Calzedonia shop

If you love the blue and white architecture in Mykonos Town (who doesn’t?!), then the street at the Calzedonia shop does definitely not disappoint:

Stairs near Ebnb.gr

Cute stairs are practically everywhere in Mykonos Town. So if you didn’t manage to wake up early, your best bet is in some narrow streets with not-so-well-known shops. The stairs near the Ebnb.gr shop are just an example. Both pictures were taken around noon:

Windmills at Mykonos Town

A visit to Mykonos Town would not be complete without a visit to its windmills. There are only two windmill sites in Mykonos Town: the Kato Mili windmills next to the sea, and the Boni windmill on top of the hill.

Kato Mili windmills

The Kato Mili windmills are a group of windmills in Mykonos Town that are right next to the seaside. There are many different angles from where you can take your pictures, as you will see below:

Boni windmill

The Boni windmill is on top of the hill, overlooking Mykonos Town. Because it is on top of a hill, there is less space to take your pictures so it’s better to come early in the morning.

Random instagrammable places in Mykonos Town

As you stroll through Mykonos Town, you will come across so many random instagrammable places. Apart from the Skandinavian Bar, I wasn’t able to find these spots on the map. But I hope they will still inspire you:
