There are many different types of helicopter tours to choose from when you’re in Vegas. We knew that taking a helicopter would be a once in a lifetime thing, so we went all out. Our tour of choice was the sunset champagne picnic tour with Sundance Helicopters.
Private limousine pick up
It all started with being picked up by a private limousine at our Las Vegas hotel. We drove to the helicopter terminal accompanied by music and disco lights – get the party started!Β
We shared the helicopter with another couple. They seemed a bit scared about it all, so they were happy for us to sit in the front. I couldn’t believe my luck.
Bubbles with a view
From the front of the helicopter, we had a panoramic view of the Hoover Dam, Colorado River and of course the Grand Canyon. I was amazed to see what an enormous landscape the Grand Canyon is. Even from high up in the sky, its size is hard to comprehend.
Our pilot then landed the helicopter underneath the rim next to the Colorado River. While he was preparing our champagne picnic, we walked around a bit to enjoy the lovely landscape. Then it was time to cheer our glass of bubbles surrounded by Grand Canyon views.
Las Vegas at night
Before flying back to Las Vegas, our pilot offered to take a picture of us next to the helicopter. We then watched the sunset over the Grand Canyon while flying above it all. Seeing the sunset colours of the Grand Canyon impressed me.
After sunset we flew over the Vegas strip, enjoying the many city lights shining in the dark of the night. To finish the tour in style, our private limousine drove us back to the hotel again.
Altogether, this helicopter tour exceeded my expectations by far, and I enjoyed every single moment of it.
