Picnic at the Indian Canyon

Just a 2-hour drive away from Los Angeles is the wonderful Indian Canyon. Its combination of rocks, desert and palm trees makes it an excellent location for a hike followed by a picnic on one of the many benches. Even the drive towards the Indian Canyon was a scenic one.

Did you know that one of my favourite pictures of our California trip was taken on our way to the Indian Canyon? I love the sense of adventure this picture of the Mustang with the rocky desert in the background gives.

Not too far from the Indian Canyon, we stopped at a supermarket to buy our picnic food. The park had several picnic benches, so that turned out to be a good call. We really enjoyed having our lunch here.

When we went in June, the Californian temperatures were very high, so make sure to bring your water bottle. We used an insulated water bottle to keep our drinks cold. Maybe it was thanks to the heat that we found this place so quiet, or perhaps this place is not well known. Either way, this place deserves to be called a hidden gem.
