Visiting the Warner Bros Studio Tour

As a Pretty Little Liars’ fan, my experience at the Warner Bros studio tour in Los Angeles was truly unforgettable. I will never look at the series the same now that I have seen Rosewood with my own eyes. An experience I will forever cherish.

We did the studio tour in June 2015, so some of the below series are no longer recorded. I’m therefore not sure if the same sets will still be there. However, the route of the studio tour changes daily – depending on the productions being filmed that day. The movie sets part of the tour therefore always varies. I feel lucky that Pretty Little Liars didn’t need their set on the day we visited.

To save some money on the tickets, we visited the Warner Bros Studio Tour as part of ourΒ Go LA PassΒ package.

Pretty Little Liars

Our Warner Bros studio tour started with an introductory video, after which our group was split into smaller groups. We then headed off to the studios in a golf cart that drove us around the entire tour. Only at selected places during the tour were we allowed to leave the cart.

The first stop where we were allowed to leave the cart was also the best, as it was Pretty Little Liar’s very own Rosewood. Just like the series, we started at the barn where Ali went missing. We then went on to the house where Ali’s family lives. Other parts of Rosewood we got to visit were Spencer’s parents’ office, the church, Lucky Leon’s cupcakes, the florist, the high school and the police station.

Big Bang Theory

Another highlight of the studio tour was entering the set of the Big Bang Theory. We were not allowed to take pictures inside, but it was very cool to see what the real set looks like compared to what it looks like on TV. We had tried to get free tickets to attend a live recording of the Big Bang TheoryΒ here, but we were not lucky enough.

Movie props collection

In addition to the film sets, we’ve also seen Warner Bros’ vast collection of movie props.

Batman has its own cave full of Batmobiles. His costumes, masks and weapons were also part of the DC universe exhibit, together with Poison Ivy. Sounds like a bit of a Batman overkill to you? No worries, it was his 75th anniversary in 2015. I believe that the DC universe exhibit now shows different characters. The Batman cave is still there though.

Last but not least, we visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We even got sorted to a Hogwarts House by the official sorting hat. For what it’s worth, I was a Slytherin.
