Sightseeing in the Big Apple
Sightseeing is our favourite way to explore a new city together as a couple, so I’m sharing the best New York sights here:
Statue of Liberty
Start your romantic journey with a visit to Lady Liberty herself. Take a ferry to Liberty Island and marvel at the symbol of freedom while enjoying breath-taking views of the city skyline.
Just be aware of the many boat tours offered that will not let you disembark at Liberty Island – these tours will only allow you to see the Statue of Liberty from the boat itself.Β
If you want to take good pictures with the Statue of Liberty, make sure to book a tour that does let you disembark at Liberty Island. I also wrote a post about how to get to the Statue of Liberty.
Brooklyn Bridge & Dumbo
Take a romantic walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. Explore the trendy Dumbo neighborhood, known for its cobblestone streets, art galleries, and eclectic boutiques.
Check out my post about how to take the best pictures at Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo for all my tips and tricks.
Hudson Yards
Discover the modern side of New York at Hudson Yards, home to the spectacular Vessel.
If you’re feeling adventurous and none of you is afraid of heights, there is a glass floor observation deck at the Edge in Hudson Yards with wonderful views of the New York City skyline.
For the extremely adventurous couples who don’t get thrilled by a glass floor on the 100th floor, you can get your thrill by climbing all the way to the top of the Edge. Whichever option you choose, just make sure to book your tickets for the Edge in advance to avoid the long queues.
For a more laid back couple activity at the Hudson Yards, take a romantic walk around the High Line, an elevated park with greenery and art installations.
Central Park
Escape the urban hustle and bustle with a leisurely stroll through Central Park. Rent a rowboat on the lake, have a picnic, or simply enjoy each other’s company surrounded by nature in the heart of the city.
Times Square
Experience the dazzling lights of Times Square. While it may be touristy, the energy and excitement are contagious, making it a must-visit for any couple exploring the city.
There are so many more places worth seeing in New York City, so why not check out my favourite photo spots in New York City?

After all of the sightseeing, it is time to turn up the romance even more with these unforgettable activities.
Observation Decks
Soak in panoramic views of the city from observation decks like the Empire State Building or One World Observatory. The breath-taking vistas are sure to create lasting memories.
Out of all the different observation decks we visited in New York City, the Top of the Rock was by far our favourite, followed by the One World Observatory. Make sure to book your tickets in advance to skip the queues, because queues are extremely long at all of New York’s observation decks.
Broadway Show
Immerse yourselves in the magic of Broadway with a captivating live performance. Whether it’s a classic musical or a contemporary play, the city’s theatre scene has something for every couple.
Helicopter Tour over Manhattan
Elevate your romance to new heights with a helicopter tour over Manhattan. Admire the cityscape from above and create unforgettable moments as you soar through the skies.
Or maybe it’s time to take your relationship to new heights and you’re looking for an original way to propose to your partner. Look no further than this private sunset helicopter tour over New York City, including a professional photographer and illuminated “Marry Me?” sign. I mean, who wouldn’t be swept off their feet by a proposal like that?! It will definitely be a memory of a lifetime.

Rent a private Hot Tub Boat
Experience a unique aquatic adventure by renting a hot tub boat. Cruise along the waterways of New York while relaxing in a private hot tub β the perfect blend of romance and relaxation.
