Best photo spots in Los Angeles

Long Beach

Looking for a day trip in Los Angeles, but not sure where to start? In this post, I am sharing my favourite photo spots to inspire you.

Hollywood sign

When I think of Los Angeles, the Hollywood Sign is the first thing that comes to my mind. A hike up to the Hollywood Sign is therefore a must-do when in LA. Different hiking routes lead to different angles of the Hollywood Sign.Β

We wanted to take pictures with the sign in the background, so we started our hike from the Sunset Ranch in the Hollywood Hills. It is also possible to get there by horse or to hike behind the sign.

Santa Monica Pier

Another iconic view of Los Angeles is the Santa Monica Pier. We just went for a walk around the pier, have lunch with sea views and to do the Malibu Celebrities’ home tour. Its attractions and Route 66 signs make it a very picturesque place.

Rodeo Drive

Although the stores at Rodeo Drive are not exactly within my budget, its gorgeous streets are very photo-worthy.

Downtown LA

Downtown LA is a beautiful combination of new buildings and old buildings, making it a great spot for taking pictures. I also really enjoyed walking around its Grand Park.

Long Beach

Long Beach is not far from the iconic ship the Queen Mary. Its coloured wooden beach houses and tall palm trees make it a great photo spot. We really enjoyed watching the sunset from here.

Cultural mix around Union Station

Union Station itself is beautiful, but what impressed me even more is the cultural mix you will find while walking around. One step outside the station makes you feel like you took the train to Mexico, while walking north will get you to China Town. Walking back south towards Downtown, you will cross Little Tokyo.

Malibu

Although the beach of Malibu is private for residents only, we were able to take some nice pictures from our tour car. The Malibu views really reminded me of Charlie’s house in the series Two and a Half Men.

Griffith Observatory

The Griffith Observatory is the best place to watch the Los Angeles skyline from. You have to be lucky with the weather conditions though, as you will see from my foggy pictures.

Beverly Hills sign

Famous from several different movies, Beverly Hills is a must-see when in Los Angeles. I couldn’t resist taking a picture with its sign.
